Stew and Story
Katie Latimer returns to St. Ann’s on Nov. 4 for Stew & Story
A fundraiser called “Stew & Story,” will be held at St. Ann’s By-the-Sea Friday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. Included are dinner cooked by Mike Ballard, Theresa Sisto and Dan Barker; wine and non-alcoholic beverages; and an after-dinner story program by professional storyteller Katie Latimer. Cost is $40 per person. Seating for Stew & Story is limited to 40 people; to reserve, call Erica Tonner at 466-2911.
Our storyteller, Katie Latimer, is from Hope Valley, R.I., and has told stories professionally since she was 13. In 1998 she traveled to Tennessee for the National Youth Storytelling Olympics and took home the gold medal. Since then she has performed regionally and nationally at libraries, schools and festivals across the U.S., and international conferences. Her performances have delighted people of all ages.
For her Block Island audience on November 4, she plans to present “Stories of Wonder and Imagination.” She likes to wrap up her programs by taking questions from the audience and relating to her listeners at a more personal level. No stranger to Block Island, Katie has presented works for younger audiences at the Island Free Library.
Besides a full schedule of storytelling, Katie works part time doing web development. She lives in Rhode Island with her husband Ricky and their two sons, Cameron and Jonathon.
We hope to see you there!
