Bishop's Committee
The Bishop’s Committee is a group of lay people appointed by the Bishop of the diocese to exercise leadership in areas such as finance, property and personnel. The committee serves as body of advice and counsel to the Vicar. The committee is normally chaired by the Vicar, who bears responsibility for worship and pastoral care. The committee meets monthly to deal with the business of the parish, eg. the budget, fundraising for various purposes, property issues, etc. There are three officers, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, and Treasurer. The Senior Warden acts a sort of a liaison between the parish and the Vicar, and in the absence of a vicar assumes a leadership role in the life of the parish. The Junior Warden’s particular area of interest is in property matters, and the Treasurer’s role is self explanatory. There are four at-large members to round out the committee.
